Many of you have asked us for information on how to properly introduce your dog to a new dog. Whether you're bringing a new dog into your family or just meeting a friend for a doggie play date, how you introduce your dogs can make a huge difference in how they interact with each other. Check out our new article on the subject here: Dog to Dog Intros.

  4. Glad you guys liked it! I was afraid it was going to sound something like making a pie. One cup of sugar, one egg, yadda, yadda.

Pippin, I hope your neighbors get the message!

  5. Again... Wonderful article Marthina! I'll repost what I posted on facebook...

I think it's great Marthina! Something that the general public needs. Now can we collaborate on an article about being courteous to others when out walking your dog? I've got a neighbor who walks both of her big rude and snarling dogs at the same time, one of which will literally drag her and the other dog across the 'yard' to get to another dog. Twice now he's dragged her into my breezeway in effort to get at the dog on the end of my leash.

  8. Marthina, I'm actually going to be printing out some information for the management here to pass out to residents, kid & dog safety / dog bite prevention stuff. There are SO many little ones around here that don't know not to just rush up to a 'doggie', and there's one woman here who has (through her own fears) taught her children to run from dogs. Would you mind if I condensed this intro information to add to my 'package'? And I'd be more than happy to work with you on the dog walking manners book too. :-)

  10. Excellent advice. True- too often we don't let our dogs act like dogs. This was a good refresher on the right and wrong way to introduce. Thanks!
